A Pet is A Pet

Virtual Pets ? affection and addiction:

In the midst of globalization and technology revolution, everything seems following the streams of digitalization, automation and everything that can simplify by the technology or can be powered by technology. And Pets are not exempted.
I remember even back then that technology has been an influential tool that created a “virtual pets” that made us fascinated and hooked. One very good example of the virtual pet is the famous Tamagotchi.
Tamagochi is a handheld digital pet, created in Japan by Akihiro Yokoi of WiZ and Aki Maita of Bandai. This keychain-sized virtual pet simulation game was first sold by Bandai in 1996 in Japan. As of 2010, over 76 million Tamagotchis have been sold world-wide, according to wikipedia.org.
On its height of popularity, this virtual pet gadget has been a big hit especially to kids and young at heart ? and pet lovers of course. No wonder, because of its charm simulating on how to raise a pet from its hatchling form to its maturity depends on the player's actions.
Moreover, you may add more personal touch on these virtual pets. Once the egg hatched into small pet, the player may put name, birthdate and learn the pet’s family group and/or gender.
Virtual Pets versus Real-life Pets:While some seems enjoying this virtual pet gadget and getting addicted in some cases, there is an issue arising and questions are roaming around amongst the pet lovers.
If virtual pets is getting influential especially to kids, how these kids train themselves to be more affectionate into humanize manner of raising a real and live pets than taking care and getting hooked with these virtual pets.
Discipline and humanize touch is an issue. While allotting time seems included on virtual pet gadget like feeding and checking them, we cannot contest that taking care of the live or real pets can teach more of the discipline because life is at stake. When someone misses the feeding or checking its pet condition, life is at risk for sure.
What pet lovers are trying to point here is for the parents to encourage their children of taking care or raising a live or real pet that will teach them more values, discipline and affection that can be more feel and seen over the virtual pets over the counter.
